My Khê & Đà Nẵng

Maison D’Rose Đà Nẵng sits right on the My Khê beachfront. This is a real local guide from your hosts: the beach, Dragon Bridge, the Marble Mountains, the Sơn Trà Peninsula, Bà Nà Hills and Hội An — with how to get around, and the best time of year to come.

The beach

My Khê — right at the door

My Khê is a long, gently shelving stretch of white sand that travel magazines have repeatedly named among the world’s most beautiful beaches. From Maison D’Rose it is only a few steps to the water’s edge — you can swim before breakfast and rinse off in the pool when you come back up.

The beach is wide enough that it rarely feels crowded, with loungers and umbrellas to rent and a handful of seafood spots and cafés right on the sand. Early morning and late afternoon are the prettiest, coolest hours.

A safety note: in the rough-sea months (roughly September–December) waves and rip currents can be strong — swim where there are flags and lifeguards.

In the city

Dragon Bridge & the Hàn riverfront

About 3–4 km from the house (roughly a 10-minute drive, or a 35–40-minute seafront stroll) is Dragon Bridge — a golden dragon spanning the Hàn River. On weekend nights (usually Saturday & Sunday at 9 pm) the dragon breathes fire and water; it is worth timing an evening around it.

Around it you’ll find Hàn Market, coffee streets and riverside restaurants — the west bank of the Hàn is an easy, pleasant evening walk.

Mountains & headland

Marble Mountains & Sơn Trà

The Marble Mountains (Ngũ Hành Sơn) are about 7–10 km away (10–15 minutes by car) — a cluster of limestone hills with caves, pagodas and steps up to viewpoints over the coast. Go early to beat the midday heat.

The Sơn Trà Peninsula is about 10–12 km (20 minutes) — jungle, coast road and the Lady Buddha at Linh Ứng Pagoda, the tallest in Vietnam, looking out over the bay. The mountain road is winding, so a driver or a tour is the safe way up.

Day trips

Bà Nà Hills & Hội An

Bà Nà Hills — home of the famous Golden Bridge — is about 30 km away (40–50 minutes by car). It’s a full early-start day; book the cable car ahead in high season.

Hội An Ancient Town is about 25–30 km (45–60 minutes) — lantern-lit streets along the Hoài River, old houses, tailors and food. It’s loveliest in late afternoon and evening when the lanterns come on. Your hosts can help arrange a car or recommend a trusted driver.

Getting around

Distances & how to get there

Đà Nẵng is compact and easy. Taxis and Grab (cars and bikes) are everywhere, cheap and convenient; many guests rent a scooter for the freedom of the coast road. The airport is inside the city, so transfers are quick.
