Getting around southern Phú Quốc: taxi, Grab, scooter & transfers

Southern Phú Quốc is beautiful and quiet, but getting around isn’t like Dương Đông or Saigon — Grab here is patchy. Here’s how to actually move around Bãi Khem, An Thới and Sunset Town.

Grab — yes, but don’t rely on it

Grab works on the island, but in the south (the Bãi Khem and An Thới area) drivers are sparse and most are on charter tours, so you may wait a long time or get no car at all. In central Dương Đông it’s far more reliable.

Traditional taxis are more dependable in the south

Mai Linh and Vinasun operate on the island and are easier to catch in the south. Your hotel can always call you a trusted car — just ask the front desk.

Scooter rental — the most freedom

Scooter rental runs about 150,000–200,000₫ a day, widely available in Dương Đông and arrangeable through your hotel. It’s the most flexible way to explore Bãi Sao, An Thới or ride out for the sunset — bring your licence and wear a helmet.

Airport transfer & the beach shuttle

Phú Quốc Airport is about 30–40 minutes from Bãi Khem. Maison D’Rose offers an airport transfer on request for 300,000₫ — book ahead so a car is waiting. For the beach itself, the hotel runs a free electric-buggy shuttle to Bãi Khem on demand.
